Sport psychology helps improve preparation. While of course an athlete will find it difficult to perform without adequately training, it demands them to be in peak physical condition. Also, it is true that they need to be in the right frame of mind.
Mental toughness, like physical fitness, is a skill honed over time. Here are some of the mental tools to help pull you through your toughest training: choose and maintain a positive attitude, maintain a high level of self-motivation, practice positive self-talk, set high, realistic goals, learn to deal effectively with people, and by using positive mental imagery. Acquiring mental toughness does not happen overnight. It is developed and honed through experience, just like any other important skill or technique.
It is not uncommon for injuries to fuel feelings of isolation, frustration, anxiety and even depression. There is a certain amount of reconditioning that an athlete must go through to work your way back from a sports injury besides time to physically heal. It is important to manage anxiety effectively and manage your emotions effectively.
